How to Quilt – but using paper!

Someone said about quilting – “Cut material into bits to only have to sew the bits back together”.  Must have been a husband who made that comment!

Anyway, the ‘in-thing’ in cardmakeing is ‘Quilting’.  Here is a card using the quilting technique.

CLASSES for 2012 begin again this Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning.  Can’t wait to see you all!

Did you say…Chocolate?

I can imagine you had a piece or two of  Chocolate over the weekend!  I did (and really shouldn’t have).

Just before our class recess, we made the following cards.

Dark, milk and white chocolate – yum!  A male  card but change the colours and there… one for the ladies.

This is the other card we made – Ladies we can all relate to this one!

House work…..What’s that?

The STAMP SET used for these two cards are from the Autumn Mini – EAT CHOCOLATE.

I hope you had a wonderful Easter break with your family and friends and received lots of Chocolates!

We remembered what Christ did for each and every one of us.

 “Christ has Risen!”

 “Indeed He has!”

For the sugar rush so that I will be able do all the things I need to do!

One important ‘thing to do’ is to up-date my blog….. I am three classes behind for posting on the blog.  Where does the time go?  (Well if I stopped playing with my new  stamp sets and making heaps of cards for fun….I would have the time 🙂 )

Sometimes it seems like a LONG PROCESS to up-date.  To get ready to place pictures on the blog I have to take them!  Then load the pictures to my photo-editing program; re-size them; watermark; organize files (so I can find them later 😦 ); up-load them to the blog library and then start a post.  PHEW….now where’s that cupcake?

It’s the Easter break and classes are in recess for two weeks, so I will have time to catch up.  Not only do I have the class posts to up-load but I have nine cards  (from me playing) to show you what can be done with top-note and butterflies.  (It might be 10 cards if I get a moment or two 🙂  House work…. what’s that!)

We did a cupcake card to give to a male.  (Well, men love cakes don’t they?)  I also showed my ladies a female version using the cupcake die.

YUMMY, YUMMY, I feel better already

STAMP SET:  Itty Bitty Backgrounds (Retired)  Replace with Sandy Speckles (Wheel)
INK:  Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
CARD:  Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight
(NOTE:  Cupcake can be made from scraps)
DIE:  Top Note
SIZZLETS:  Big Bold Cupcakes (set of 4)
EXTRAS:  Big Shot, Glue Pen, Crystal Effects, string 6 1/2″, Sponges, Crimper

Any ol’ scraps?

Every time, I make a card, I always have scraps of cardstock that I put away to be used later.  After awhile…mine breed!! 🙂

I decided that the card for this week’s class, should use some of my scraps.

So EASY!  I brought along all my scraps and my circle punches and the ladies had a great time creating circles and gluing them on to Whisper White.

This was then put into an embossing folder (Petals a Plenty) and whizzed through the Big Shot.

NOTE:  It is best to use an embossing folder that has solid coverage.

NOTE:  Any punches can be used for this method.  Even try the Big Shot Dies – Leaves, Butterfly etc.

As I said, the ladies loved making this card and their challenge for the month is to create another card using their scraps and punches or dies.  I am looking forward to their creations.  I have already seen a few creations – WOW – and I have been told what some are going to do.

I can’t wait to see their creations!

We also did an insert piece for this card which could hold a gift voucher or money.

With Sympathy (plus two other cards)

Every Card Maker should have a few SYMPATHY cards in their stash.

The ladies in my classes made this simple card.

BUT WAIT…. THERE’S MORE …. A GET WELL CARD made for our Friend, Peter.

That’s it for now…..

Happy Valentine’s Day

I hope you all received something from your loved one.  I am on a diet (again) so I didn’t get any Chocolates!  No flowers as I am having a HUGE sinus problem. (So hot and dry in Perth)  BUT Hubby and I went down South for a long-weekend!  We had a great time – will post pictures sometime this week.

I did make my darling a card!

I liked the colour combo of Real Red, Basic Grey, Designer Series Paper – Neutrals

The inside had lots of HEARTS too.  My darling has my heart!

SNEAK PREVIEW of tomorrow’s card….  Come back and see my colour combo (So out of my comfort zone!)  There will be instructions on how to make this card and the ‘fold’.  See you then.

I have lots….

Of cards to show you!

I was going to upload them all tonight but I thought I would do one-a-day until I catch up (So come back again tomorrow and the next day, and the next…..)

I just love making the cards, but then I have to take pictures of them, re-size and then upload them, which takes me ages to do!  That is the reason that I am not up-to-date  😦
