A Mixture of Boxed Cards

I have not been blogging (and I am not going to go through excuses).   I plan to post the cards that we have been doing in class at the end of last year.  So be prepared to receive a few emails over the coming days/weeks as I catch up.

Excellent for enclosing a little something extra!  Here are some different boxed cards…Enjoy

Just use your own favourite colour schemes and stamps

A box for a card

I made a card for a friend’s 40th Birthday and I didn’t want to squash it by putting it into an envelope so I made a box to put it in.

This box was made with Basic Black.  I sponged with Whisper White and Silver to get the ‘metallic’ look.

Oh yes, let’s not forget the vellum butterflies and bling!

BASE:  Basic Black, 11 1/4″ x 7 3/4″
PAPER:  Basic Black, Vellum
INK:  Whisper White, Silver
DIE:  Top Note, Beautiful Wings, Leaves
PUNCHES:  3/4″ Circle, Corner
EXTRA:  Glue Dots, Sponge, 1 large brad, 2 small brads

Now for the card that went inside the box:

Just have to love the Shimmer Vellum Butterflies.

I had originally made a purple card for her (her favourite colour) but when I received the invite, it was back and white.  Also, it was fancy dress – black and white.  Here is the Purple Card.

Classes will commence next week.  Come back to see a ‘card that isn’t a card’!

A Box, A Butterfly and a Clown

Mmm, still catching up.  So here are a couple of things we have completed in class.  Then I will be up-to-date!!

Well here is the BOX and the BUTTERFLY!!

This Box can hold a chocolate bar (Yummy) or a few home-made cards (how many depends on how many layers are on the cards).

This is the method I decided to use to keep the box closed.

STAMP SETS:  Vintage Vogue, Tine Tags, Very Vintage Wheel,  All of a Flutter
INKS:  Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise
PUNCHES:  1 3/4″ circle, Jewellery Tag, Corner punch, Double Rectangle, Wide Oval
CARD:  Creamy Caramel, Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip

AND HERE’S THE CLOWN (Not my own design but a bought tutorial)

Or maybe someone you know? 🙂

A clown made using the Bird Punch.

I didn’t have any spotted designer paper so I made my own.  I used Itty Bitty Background stamp (Retired) and stamped with Old Olive ink.   Cleaned the stamp and went over the paper again, using Rich Razzleberry ink.  Next, it went through the BIG SHOT using the Dots Embossing Folder.  And presto…. background paper with dots…..

STAMP SETS: Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
INKS:  Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
CARD:  Mellow Moss (base), Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry.
DSP:  Cottage Wall
PUNCHES:  Word, Large Oval, Bird, 1/4″ hand-held circle
EXTRAS:  Crimper, sponges, Big Shot

I am Sooooo busy creating class cards and cards for family and friends that I haven’t made anything for me.  So I changed that….and had a break.

I decided to make a box to hold class cards before I present them to the ladies.  Of course, I used my favourite colour- chocolate chip!  🙂

Nice and big and open – Easy to place my finished cards into the box

Vintage Brads and Clear Rhinestone Brads.  They just finished off the Card Holder

Here it is holding my class cards.
Now it is back to making more cards for my ladies, family and friends!!
