BIG BIRD

Mmm, Perhaps a Canary?  🙂

Another card made using bold brights.  I am really going to miss these colours (but I am also looking forward to the new colours!!).

Notice the false brads?  Crystal Effects really do the trick.  Also added Crystal Effects to the bird’s chest/belly.

On this layer I “swished” it with gold ink, giving the feeling of gold shimmer paper.

STAMP SET:  Oval All
INK:  Gold, Chocolate Chip
CARD:  Only Orange, Summer Sun, Green Gable, Black, Chocolate Chip
PUNCHES:  Extra Large Two-step Bird, Large Oval, Corner, Office hand-held small dot
EXTRAS:  Black Marker, Crystal Effects, Scoring Tool, Mat Pack, Piercer, Sponge

BASE:  Only Orange 4 1/4″ x 11″
LAYER 1:  Black, 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
LAYER 2: Black 3″ x 3″ (Swish this layer with gold.  Just go gently with the gold ink pad.  Better to build up the colour, rather than ‘drown’ this layer.

With the Bird punch, every section (ie, bird body, branch, leaves and wings) can be punched separately.  To save card, use strips to punch out each section.

LEAVES:  1″ strip
BIRD:  1 1/4″ strip
BELLY/CHEST = made from the wing and trimmed:  1″ strip
BRANCH:  1/2″

  1. the back ground looks better in real life because it’s gold and the picture does not really show this very easy card to make loved it
