I love making backgrounds that can be trimmed to use on cards. This class card is made using the brayer. I wanted the ladies to get use to the feel of the brayer as in the coming months we will be using it quite a bit.
This is the first card and it shows a simple use of the brayer.
Now there are many brayers on the market but not are all the same. I did a demo in class, showing the results of using a cheap brayer and the one Stampin’ Up! sells. The cheap one failed. Now having said that word ‘cheap’ does not mean that our brayer is expensive. It’s not. It is very reasonable priced and does the job!!!
STAMP SETS: Embrace Life, Butterfly Prints
INK: Whisper White, Ballet Blue, Pumpking Pie, VersaMark
PUNCH: 1/2″ circle, Butterfly
CARD: Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Ballet Blue
EXTRAS: White Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, White Gel Pen, Brayer, Heat Tool, White Ribbon.
TIP: I only used two colours for the background on Whisper White. Crossing over the colours will create another colour. So it looks like I have used three colours.
CREATING THE BACKGROUND:
Brayer Pumpkin Pie on to Whisper White (Leave some white showing)
Brayer Ballet Blue (Ok to cross over on to the Pumpking Pie)
Stamp image using Pumpkin Pie
Swipe Embossing Buddy over the background
Using VersaMark, stamp same image on to the background and emboss with White Embossing Powder.
Use the heat tool. One background completed!
TRY IT. It’s fun and you will get different results every time !
