It is late getting up on the blog because I didn’t take a picture of it! I have been busy taking pictures of my daughter’s jewellery that she makes. She wants to start a web page so that she can show her pieces. (She is very talented – just like her mom 🙂 In different areas though. I could never create the wonderful rings that she makes. Awesome.
Ok, back to the card. I just love this card. Yesterday, I taught a young woman from Bali,to make this card. She said that she is going to make this card for her wedding invitations using gold paper! I have asked her to send me a picture of her invitation and I will put it up on the blog.
Easy to fold down to send, then the recipient just “pulls” the centre and presto a stand-alone card.
STAMP SETS: En Francais, Baroque Motifs, Best Yet (Hostess)
INKS: Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Summer Sun
CARD: Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun
PUNCHES: Scallop Oval, Large Oval
The Very Vanilla cardstock was ‘decorated’ to make ‘old’ looking paper.
METHOD: Stamp the Very Vanilla cardstock. (4″ x 6″) Ink the background stamp with Summer Sun. Ink square motif with Pumpkin Pie. Stamp onto scrap paper first and then onto card. Stamp again without re-inking.
NOTE: the stamping does not have to be complete nor sharp. The aim is to achieve the OLD and FADED look. Some of your images will appear quite pale – that is the look that you are going for!Stamp the little flower from the set with More Mustard and using the method above stamp onto the card. From the ‘decorated’ paper, cut a strip 2″ x 5″. Edge with More mustard (All edging was done using More mustard) Stamp sentiment onto this strip.
On the left over decorated paper, stamp the square motif, using Pumpkin Pie. NOTE: This image has to be sharp! Cut out and place a brad in the middle. Stamp “Cherish” using More Mustard. Punch out with Large Oval. Edge all pieces.
AND that is how to make your own background paper. Some of the ladies, made this card using different colours. Just stunning! Will make this card again.
